About Gene Whitten, LMHC
Christian Therapist in Indianapolis, Indiana

I started Abundant Life Counseling & Consulting because I kept meeting the same person: highfunctioning on the outside, quietly exhausted on the inside — carrying real weight with nowhere safe to put it down.

I believe every person is created with purpose and the God-given capacity to live fully and abundantly. Getting there takes more than insight — it takes the right structure and the right tools.

How I Work

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — one of the most evidence-based approaches available — integrated with a Christian worldview. The result is practical, skills-based support that honors mind, body, and spirit.

You won't just talk through problems here. You'll leave each session with something concrete to use.

Who I Work With

  • Adults navigating anxiety, burnout, and emotional overwhelm

  • Christian leaders and professionals carrying responsibility for others

  • Individuals stuck in patterns they're ready to change

  • Couples and families working through a difficult season

I serve individuals, couples, and families in person at my Indianapolis, Indiana office and virtually to clients throughout the state.

"I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." — John 10:10

That verse is the foundation of this practice. Abundant life isn't passive — it's pursued. And you don't have to pursue it alone.
